Started out pretty slow and I had a difficult time getting interested. But once it took off I couldn't put it down and now I can't wait to read book 2!

DNF - I listened to 30 percent of it and couldn't do another second. I will give this author another shot, but this series is not for me. I couldn't stand the main character. Luckily I got this book from the library. All the other books from this author were checked out with long wait lines. This was the only one sitting there. I now know why.

3.5 stars. I liked this story and the postapocalyptic world created as well as the characters. My complaints are that it is based on the Tarot cards and there is no explanation about the Tarot cards-for those of use who don't have a basic understanding of them. And since this book is written for young adults, I think it needed a bit more explanation or a glossary about who is what in the Tarot world. That said, I will read more in this series.

This captured me enough to devour it but I got really tired of the central couple talking past each other and having the same fight. I’m interested enough in the word to read the series. Excellent vacation read! I’ve read one other book my KC and my main complaint is that sometimes she fast-forwards through parts of the story, telling instead of showing. Show me everything. I’m willing to read a long book!
