Better than I expected. Adichie has a lovely conversational style that really gets the point across, and you feel like your good friend just told you.

This is a very useful introduction to feminism, not least because many of the examples come from Nigeria and she's not talking about feminism solely from a white lady perspective. I will probably use it in my class, in fact. ...more

4.5 stars. Book form of TED talk given by the author regarding her thoughts on feminism and why everyone (whether male or female) should be a feminist. Adichie eloquently shares her personal experiences and thoughts on how to establish a better gender balance.

We should!

Author adapted her ted talk on this subject to this super short book. Brings much of her experience in Nigeria, where there is still a very pervasive and unapologetic stance that women are second class citizens. Still interesting!

It's so short, I read it in 45 minutes and that was because I was taking my time. I will definitely be sending this TedTalk around. ...more
