I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The Whispered Word continues to echo in my mind. This was an emotionally intense read...not your typical cozy. Don’t get me wrong, plenty of cozy elements are present, but the reader delves deeper into the lives of Nora, Hester, June, and Estella; plus we meet Abilene. I love the literary references, character development, and writing style.
The idea of books and their stories saving a life (literally or figuratively) always draws me into a book.
Small town life, found family, friendships, stories around food and/or books, and some slow burn romance all play a part in this series that I stumbled upon. I am enjoying getting to know these characters.
