What Members Thought

The title and covert art lead me to expect this to be chick-lit, but it’s a straight-up romance (with some extremely steamy sex scenes, which I usually avoid in audiobook format! Phew! My goodness!! [fans self] ).
This is romance done right. It’s a very funny contemporary romance, with hero & heroine that check a whole bunch of trope boxes: enemies-to-lovers, relationship of convenience, disabled heroine (fibromyalgia), inter-racial relationship, tattooed artist hero with a motorcycle, computer ...more

So, I finally got around to this one. I've been trying to start reading some of the books I actually own, instead of just trying to keep up with all my library books, and I'm off to a start. I wouldn't say a GOOD start, because I'm still maxed out on holds and then keep adding to the list, but yeah. At least I read a book I own.

Chloe knows she is beautiful and she rocks her confidence in some adorable outfits. This depiction of differently shaped bodies was really lovely to me and a big change from wha ...more

This was a really good romance. It's kind of enemies-to-lovers, very briefly, but not for too long, and thankfully not business rivals. The titular protagonist is a fat Black woman with fibromyalgia, and I adore how all of Talia Hibbert's books feature fat Black women with little-to-no deal made about their weight. Chloe Brown is not insecure about her weight, and her love interest, Red Morgan (ok, the name could be less extra, but not a big deal), affirms the way she looks without fetishizing f

100% here for the depiction of fibromyalgia and for naming a cat Smudge, but 100% uncomfortable with (view spoiler)
