I wanted so much more! It felt like a kind of cheap redo with The Ballad of Songs and Snakes but with Haymitch instead. I felt like there was so much more to him, and this didn’t really tell us about it. Also while I loved seeing Beetee, Wiress and Mags again I was not super thrilled with how.

If this actually happened, why is Haymitch so terrible to Katniss? I don’t know. It doesn’t seem to fit with the rest of him. And like, Mockingjay was super depressing. Why wasn’t this? Am I too desensitiz ...more

It was implied to me that this might just be a money grab by the author. But this is a backstory. I wanted to hear. I wanted to know why it was so messed up and why it took him so long to come out of his funk to try again
