I went to Kayford Mountain in West Virginia to see the horrors of mountaintop removal. John Grisham accurately describes the struggles that the people of Appalachia are dealing with because of coal companies. It almost reads like a bad romance novel but the serious parts more than make up for that. I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

John Grisham is one of a handful of authors that I usually really enjoy and I make a point to read their books right when they come out even if it means buying the hardback book. But somehow, this book just didn't do it for me. There was so much possibility early one, I like the story line and where I thought it was going. But then nothing happened. I won't go into it more and spoil it but I am disappointed! ...more
