*Sigh* I can sum this book up in one word...Awesome.
Francesca struggles to deal with a loss from her past that still haunts her. She is a young lawyer wanting to further her career and put things behind her. It's hard to do that when Cade Kelling steps back into her life, reminding her of all the pain she's tried to move past.
Cade is not your typical leading man. He's not a bad boy really, but he's not an angel either. He deals with the ghosts of his past with alcohol.

I had absolutely no idea that Felicia Tatum was writing a contemporary book until I saw the cover reveal sign-ups, so I signed up to help! I really wanted to read the book after I saw the cover and read the synopsis and because I helped reveal the cover I had the opportunity of an ARC! I'm so happy that I said yes to an ARC! Even though it did take me until after the book had released to read it lol! This book is my favourite of Felicia's to date! It really tugged at my heartstrings and I'll adm I had absolutely no idea that Felicia Tatum was writing a contemporary book until I saw the cover reveal sign-ups, so I signed up to help! Even though it did take me until after the book had released to read it lol! This book is my favourite of Felicia's to date! It really tugged at my heartstrings and I'll admit that I cried as well! The plot of this book was full of emotion! It was so beautiful and it was written brilliantly! I loved how much the plot had progressed from start to finish! I wasn't really expecting it to progress as far as it did, but it was amazing and at several times in the book I just had a massive smile on my face! I also loved that the plot went back in time to when the two main characters first met and started a relationship! It was good to go back and see them then and see them now and to see how they had developed as characters and to see how their love for each other was still there! The characters were amazing! Francesca was the main female character and I just adored her! She worked hard and she got very little results from it, but I loved it when she took matters into her own hands! Francesca really surprised me to be honest! I loved that she was there for Cade and she had been through a lot as well so Cade was there for her as well! Cade was the main male character and what I liked about him was that he had so much love for Francesca and I could really see that he would do anything for her! Cade had an addiction problem and it was his love for Francesca that made him finally come to terms with it and get help for it! Francesca made him a better person and I really admired her for that! The ending to this book was bittersweet! It was so cute and I actually teared up! I'm really looking forward to reading the next book in the Hearts series even if it isn't about Francesca and Cade as I loved this one! The cover is so pretty! I have saw that picture on some other covers, but I like that the Felicia's cover is very different to those other covers! Big thank you to Felicia for an ARC of Mangled Hearts! ...more

I loved it!! Ahh, Cade.. haha!!

I love the story and of course, the POVs of both characters!! I love how the author made this book intriguing and the same time easy to read. You can easily follow the story and the timeline.

As I was reading the first few chapters, I was really intrigued what was the reason why Francesca and Cade's issue.. It made you think the possibilities of the issues and it encouraged me to finish the book. And the way the story ends was good and I love how one's love c ...more

This was such an amazing book! This is a story about second chances, addiction, forgiveness, love, and so much more. It held so much emotion, Cade and Francesca's journey was just that; emotional. Cade and Francesca had so many obstacles to overcome and watching this story unfold was amazing. This book was written in both Cade and Francesca's POV and I love this! Love is messy, unpredictable and often very awkward even in the best situations.

Mangled Hearts is the first book in the Scarred Hearts series. The story is about Francesca and Cade. It is raw emotion, realistic and not your typical love story.

Francesca is a young woman who is trying to get past the pain that was endured during her teenage years. She has a good job, wanting all the things a up and coming lawyer wants and then she gets thrown a curve ball. Cade is not the "bad boy" everyone makes him out to be. He has his own demons and deals with them in his own way.

What is that saying?.....If you love someone set them free, if they come back to you, they are yours, if they don't, they never were. This book proved this saying to be true. Cade and "franny girl" proved that sometimes love is enough to conquer all. The dynamic between those characters was hot and sweet at the same time. This was a really well written story. This book is so well written, that I found myself lost in the pages of Felicia's characters lives and how they grow more and more every book. I am not typically a reader of contemporary romance. Very few authors are capable of creating dimensional, believable characters in a romantic setting. But I loved Tatum's White Aura series, so I picked this up.

What a fantastic book, such a lot of heart ache and sadness, It nearly completely ruined two peoples lives, then by chance they are brought back together, when Cade and Francesca get to talk openly and honestly they find out just how wrong they both got it and how much damage it had caused them, this is a story if self discovery, second chances and new beginnings...I'm looking forward to the next chapter ...more

I loved this book! I am anxious for more! The story is real, not happily ever after. Both have baggage in the relationship and they are by no means perfect. There were parts that made me think of myself and really hit home. Felicia is such a great writer and can really make you see a book like a movie in your head and make you feel what the characters feel. You definitely have to read this book and her others as well!
