Charlotte Bronte) a few years ago, the thing I remembered from
it was the thin veneer of jealousy that Charlotte felt towards

Re-read 2022--3.5 start round up.

I enjoyed this much more than I expected. It was a short light tale of good Agnes, who's rational virtues are rewarded. I'd say it lacked both the humor and sophistication of Austen, but not as pontificating as Elliot. the best thing I've read by a Bronte.
