I was drawn to the cover and illustrations, by N. C. Wyeth, of this edition which kept me interested long enough to take me beyond the language of the past; where "in" means if and "gossip" means God willing.Then moving on to the true coming of age story of Master Richard Shelton set in the time of the War of the Roses with an appearance of a young Richard Crookback to speed along the story and a love triangle of the old sort.Maid betrothed against her will to a fathers friend or foe (never real ...more

Pretty good, once you get over the contrived Early Modern English. Once the action kicks in, it gets a lot better.
