Dull. Dull. Drudgery. Uninteresting. Dull. I would describe the book this way, but that may be a tribute to Lawrence's writing style. And is perhaps the thing I enjoyed most about the book. He uses words in an interesting way, often repeating the same word several times in a sentence of paragraph. At first I hated it, but it soon grew on me and I found it powerful. In the love affairs of two sisters, Ursula with Rupert, and Gudrun with Gerald, critics could only see a sorry tale of sexual depravity and philosophical obscurity.
