What Members Thought

Far in the future, the World Controllers have created the ideal society. Through clever use of genetic engineering, brainwashing and recreational sex and drugs all its members are happy consumers.

This book pissed me off even more than 1984. I can see shades of a mixture of both books in today's America. No person or group of people should have this much power and control. I think I need to read something light and airy now.

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley is not a text that lacks reviews or opinions, and attempting to contribute to the (often-polarizing) dialogue is a bit daunting. But I did finish the book, and I do have some impressions that I feel warrant sharing.

Brave New World reminded me of a more sexual '1984'. I love the way Huxley was thinking, and he was dead on - he raises many thought provoking questions that are still relevant to our society.
