Cold, sterile characters as is the world they live in where everything is there for pleasure and happiness. A look at what the world would be like if everything was done for pure enjoyment and anything that threatened their values disappears. This was a dystopian novel that while at times brought up some interesting ideas, was for the most part too disturbing to be relatable. The beginning of Brave New World was so interesting, but also very disturbing (the part with kids doing adult stuff in bushes... gross). But thinking about a world like that, where everyone is cloned and in social classes to serve the society, where casual sex is encouraged, and where you are given a drug to feel better and appease your mind is really fascinating.
