It took me almost a year to get through this collection of stories, doing them one at a time with spaces in between. A significant historical work, I could admire Boccaccio's writing, but many of the stories were difficult to engage with and I did not establish any feeling of connection to the storytellers who were fleeing the plague.

Done! This book is too easily put down which I did multiple times. Probably the best advice I would give to someone thinking about reading this is to first read the Author’s Conclusion which appears at the End obviously. He states that If you have an abundance of leisure time then why not undertake this work; if not you may have better things to do :)
