There’s been so much written on this book, that anything I contribute here will be thoroughly unoriginal, so I’ll try to keep my comments brief. To start off, it’s easy to see why Stranger was such an influential piece of fiction. Heinlein crams in a lot of interesting ideas that made it unlike 99% percent of the science fiction published in the early 60s (the tail end of the Campbellian period).
