No Name is my third read of a Wilkie Collins novel. I began with The Moonstone and loved it, then I read The Woman In White and adored that one and now I've just finished the massive 741 page roller-coaster ride of No Name and I am speechless. There were times in the middle where I actually thought this was a weak novel compared to the others, because I saw plainly where it was heading, but then it took a turn that I didn't see and wow! Twisting and turning, slowly told at times. Finishes with a bang. The serial version of this story was published over 9 months months-more time than it took me to read even as slowly as I did- I can imagine the sales of All the Year Round and Harper’s Weekly benefited greatly from the inclusion of No Name.
