This novel is a great example of the picaresque style. It uses real events and mixes them with humor and satire. This is the story of a 111 year old white man raised by the Cheyenne Indians and his recollections. At times humorous and then serious and deadly. It depicts the events of a long life and the "sole surviving white man" of the Battle of The Big Horn. ...more
