I love it when an author can take a simple idea or an everyday setting and make it frightening.
Two men are canoeing and stop on a small island to rest for the night...no problem, right?
The author brings to life the surroundings, elements, and nature in a beautifully scary way. So well done.

A huge fan of H.P. Lovecraft, I couldn't resist this personal favorite story of his when it was offered for free, and I was happy I downloaded it. A pleasant trip by canoe down the Danube becomes a nightmare for two friends when the river, the wind, and the willows seem to take on a mind and a will of their own.
