Shelves: christmas, mice
This is the kind of story I loved when I was a child, and my grandma Sadie was reading to me at bedtime. I loved stories about Brownies, and dolls, who came to life. In this book the little mice came to help the old Taylor, when he was sick and worn out. The mice had beautiful small stitches for the button holes, and in the future, they made the old tailor rich, from all the business of wealthy men, who wanted beautifully made coasts and waistcoats.

From BBC Radio 4 Extra:
A poor man has just three days to sew a cherry silk coat for the Mayor.

Since I missed this episode, I downloaded at Project Gutenberg.

"I'LL BE AT CHARGES FOR A LOOKING-GLASS, AND ENTERTAIN A SCORE OR TWO OF TAILORS"
Richard III

A nice book to be read at Christmas time.
