I enjoyed this classic. Many classics are hard for me to get through because they are written in a complicated manner with lots of large "college" words that don't make a lot of sense to this only minimumly educated person. The flow of the story was quick and didn't linger on paragraphs of endless description. I wanted to read this in anticipation of the movie "John Carter" which has recently been released to the theaters. I'm interested in seeing how the movie treats the story. For those who kn ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this. It was non-stop action. Though a bit dated it still held up surprisingly well. Quite a bit different than the movie. I'm thinking the movie may be a condensation of the entire series, but that will have to wait until it is all read. ...more

An unknown author and book

I have never heard of The Princess of Mars, or Edgar Rice Burroughs before reading this! It's a mixture of science fiction and romance and I found myself cheering him on, and I can't wait until I read the next in the series!!
