I had never heard of this book or Gerald Durrell until
stumbling upon this title while searching Reddit for a light, fun read. For once, Reddit delivered! This was a delight! Durrell is often spoken of as the father of modern zoological conservation efforts. This book chronicles one his trips to Cameroon to collect animals, in the hopes of starting his own zoo in Europe and studying ways to help these creatures thrive in the wild.
