I have always preferred Woolf`s essays to her novels, but I thought that after “A Room of One`s Own” there was nothing better. I was wrong. With this “Three Guineas,” the author, long before a certain feminism that fights patriarchy, took a definite stand by directing her barbs at a certain kind of fathers, men and academics.
