For such a short book, it takes longer than I would have liked for Tinkers to get going. Even so, it picks up momentum after the first third, and the latter half of the book moves very quickly. I enjoyed reading Tinkers, as Harding's writing is artful beyond much of what is published today. The descriptions of Howard's seizures is nothing short of magical, between Harding's use of language and his imagination.
