Jess d'Artagnan
Tess Gerritsen's background in medicine really shines in this installment of the Rizzoli and Isles series. The murderer is killing women and then using ancient preservation methods on the bodies--mummification, shrunken heads, and bog bodies. Maura, the forensic pathologist then has the challenge of doing postmortems on these mummified bodies. This is where Gerritsen's science knowledge makes a powerful impact on the series. I liked the ending of this as well with twist after twist. ...more

Nice plot, interesting story, found a little bit difficult to understand how the process of mummification works but, overall, a good book. It's the first book I've read from this author but I'll definitely read more by her.

Another fun story with Rizzolli and Isles. Interesting take on the world of archaeology and some fun tidbits about mummies, etc. Not the most original in the series, but then again, how creative can you be with the same characters re-hashed over and over again?
