I was lucky enough to win a copy of Gerritsen's Last to Die through Goodreads, and I am so glad that I did. I had read one of Gerritsen's books before but it has been quite a while, and after reading Last to Die I wondered why I waited so long to read another one. Gerritsen delivers an emotionally powerful tale that has three orphans each who had faced tragedy twice in their lives caught in the sights of a killer. Luckily these three children have detective Jane Rizzoli and Medical Examiner Maur

Even though I am a long-time fan of the series on TNT, this was my first Rizzoli & Isles book. It made me want to read all the books in the series.
Someone at work told me that the books were completely different from the series (another long-time fan of the TV series). I would agree, with one exception, Jane is just as sarcastic in the books as in the TV series.

Rizzoli and Isles protect teenagers who have been orphaned under mysterious and violent circumstances. As the mystery unravels, the killer is not who it might have seemed and there is a new twist about one of the teenager's family. The characters are familiar and fun, the story is nothing special.

Another fantastic book in the Rizzoli and Isles series, a really great story, with a very nice twist at the end. This is book 10 in the excellent series, if you are new to this series, or are a
fan of the hit tv show, I recommend you start at the beginning as there are a number of recurring characters throughout the series, in this book and the last few books. A well deserved 5 stars out of 5, highly recommended....

Not one of my favorites, which hurts me to say, since she's one of my favorite authors. There was some unnecessary chatter, like the stuff with her mom...but the ending was worth it all. I never saw it coming! And because I also watch the tv show, all I can picture is Angie Harmon! Would recommend but only if you have read the rest of the series.

5/31/23 Re-Read: This is a great, entertaining time with a good twist at the end. It's not as thoughtful or profound as some of the other books in the series, but still a super fun time.
