What Members Thought

This book was completely refreshing. It was hilarious and for myself personally very relatable. I can't express how much I enjoyed the character of Greg. His awkward mannerisms and ways in which he attempted to make people laugh had me laughing out loud constantly throughout the book.
Earl was also a great character. I knew so many kids exactly like him when I was in high school, which made me laugh even harder when reading his character because it just all seemed really relatable for me. It was ...more

Okay, i gotta stay, this book was fricking hilarious even though it was about someone dying. I really fell in love with the characters. Greg was my favorite, he is so fucking funny. Earl was just outrageous and funny. I really loved Rachel and her personality :)) ok. Sorry it's about 12:37 in the morning and I'm really tired so don't judge me if half of this review doesn't make sense, lol.

It was okay... Honestly the only thing that kept me reading was Earl, who I absolutely adored, and the bursts of humor. This book was, in times, so funny I had to it down, laugh, then reread the page again and again. I'm not sure why but I really enjoyed Earl's character. I loved learning about his home life and was relieved when Greg took his head out of his ass and saw things from Earl's point of view. That might have been Greg's biggest lurch towards character development. Overall the book wa

I really disliked this. I've heard it likened to TFIOS and wow that is offensive!
First thing that massively pissed me off was the reference of hummus being like cat sick... like what?
secondly what's with the constant profanity, I'm ok with swearing in YA lit but this took this biscuit, constant references to sperm and donkey dicks does not make good writing
thirdly Greg is an absolute douche, nothing about him was likeable. Also the racial stereotyping of Earl and his family disgusted me, noone w ...more

This book was alright but I just don't think I'm the type of reader that likes these types of books that much. I'm more into the fantasy, love and dystopian novels/series. What I did really like about this book though was that there were a LOT of quotes I liked. Greg's humor was great, but it got old after a little while (same with Earl). But like I said, this book wasn't bad, just not my taste.
