My children studied this play in school, I did not. I have been wanting to read this play for some years now but never got around to it, I thought about getting the hard copy and then I saw this audio recording and with the cast of narrators simply could not resist getting this version, I can say it was intense and moving, all the actors did a marvelous job in their portrayals of the characters and the special effects, dog barking, rain, rooster crowing etc., added a real sense of mentally seein

I read this book before I went to see it in theatre 2014.
It made my scan crawl. The play is so intense it grips you.
And you can feel the helplessness of the people while they can't stop the events.
The play has been written with regards to the communist hunt in the 1950. And it hasn't lost any of it's actuality.
PS: If you have the chance to see it live or the Cinema Live Version of the 2014 show go and watch it.
Seeing it adds just another dimension. I was shaking afterwards. ...more
