Outstanding novel, well written and truly enjoyable. The author once again continues the Saxon Tales saga with his protagonist who was born a Saxon and raised by the Danes. This story is full of battles, betrayals, etc. and highly entertaining for anyone who loves history, factual and fictional. Set in Ninth century Britain the author goes to great lengths to describe the environment and with an assortment of varied characters makes it feel like every part of the work is plausible.
