As one can see by the title, this is one of a series. You could perhaps read it as a stand alone but there are mentions of other persons and events which would be clarified by knowing what came before. The title also indicates a connection to Jane Austen's book, Persuasion . Thus one of the two threads running through this story is the story in that book. I’m so sad that I’ve finished this audiobook, the second in the Persuasion series. It was as perfect as I’d hoped. It mirrored Jane Austen’s Persuasion, but added so much original, dragon-related content as to make it a totally new entity. I recommend it highly to anyone who loves Austen, dragons, and fantasy. I’ll be re-listening to this book periodically.
