I'll be honest. The first time I read this book, I didn't like. I couldn't relate to Melinda at all, and while I knew that it wasn't quite fair to judge her since I know what she went through, I did it anyway. I don't know why. I think maybe my expectations were too high the first time or something. I'm not sure.
