Anyone who has a daughter needs to give them this book. Despite being released in the early 1990s, this book continues to be a relevant and even essential message among the bombardment of beauty standards women in particular are subjected to. This book (along with the ever-popular Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher) is not only in my top two of the Magic Shop series, but in my top for all of Bruce Coville's books, and really, all of my middle grade collection.
