This is the second installment in the Nightrunner series, and I enjoyed it even more than the first. Lord Seregil of Rhiminee and his apprentice, Alec of Kerry continue their undercover work, meet a new circle of friends, and get embroiled in a new set of adventures and intrigue. The characterization is excellent and the story continues to be riveting. A series well worth reading!

Hot bi boy fairies in love! Still doesn't really pass the Bechdel test, but since we hit the fantasy brothels in all flavors I'm past caring. Wizards and evil and good, oh my! I'm afraid I'll be reading the other four in this series (so far).

No sophomore slump here. This second novel in Flewelling's Nightrunner series is every bit the equal to the first and thrillingly concludes the major story arc begun in Luck in the Shadows. Alec and Seregil are as delightful as ever, even as they are forced to battle increasingly dangerous forces for higher and higher stakes.
