Excellent gay YA speculative novel with a little bit of mystery. Highly recommended, and not just to YA readers.

What could possibly be worse than being “one of the odd ones,” an outcast in the small town where you grew up, a place where everyone knows everyone else? How about being a gay outcast? I have read this book three times and own digital and physical copies. Each reading reveals new elements, and its understated nature reminds me of another all-time favorite of mine, Rosemary’s Baby. It’s a good one to add to your Halloween season must-read pile.

Late one night, a teenage boy encounters a ghost while walking along a dark stretch of road. The ghost is that of a handsome high school athlete who was killed on that same road in 1957.
