What Members Thought

Many people, I'm sure, have already summarized this book for readers. I won't do that, I'll just explain my thoughts. First, to compare it with "Dawn" (the first book in the "Lilith's Brood" series) I was not as captured by this second book - it was not a slog to read but I cared less for the characters. Perhaps on enjoyment level alone I was prepared to rate it 3/5 stars however the strength of the themes brought it to 4/5 stars.

Dawn was so painful to read that it took me a long time to get back to the rest of the Xenogenesis series. They kept staring at me from the bookshelf, however. So eventually I picked up Adulthood Rites, and I'm glad I did.
