Oh, teen love. It's so hard. In this lovely YA gem, our zine writing protagonist, John, falls hard for a fellow zinester. The only catch? She's queer. I loved the tender friendship that emerged between these misfits - a friendship that allowed them both to deepen into themselves a little more. Two thumbs up.

Since I want to write a little bit about every book I read (at least, that's my plan), I'll try to sum up what I liked about this book.
I like John, though the ting about him being unfeeling wasn't anything new (I've seen other characters having the same 'flaw') but he was interesting in his own right, so that kept me reading. Neat exploration of zine culture, how people talked through them in this whole thriving sub-culture pre-internet days, and how one young guy starts finding his personality and his tribe through this, while trying to cope with painful emotions and a wounded inability to admit he cares deeply about things.
