In the ongoing saga involving Matt and Vic, this latest installment handles the fine line Vic must walk whenever he uses his powers. This is an especially fun short story as it touches on a lot of different questions that arise when reading this innovative series about a superhero bus driver and his sexually induced powers. I’ve wondered how Vic hides from media attention when he uses his powers publicly and as this story shows ~ he doesn’t. I’ve wondered how Vic hides from media attention when he uses his powers publicly and as this story shows ~ he doesn’t. He tries to ignore the outrageous claims but Matt worries, not only about the exposure.

While the short romp starts with Vic and his narrow rescue, the best part of the story came from the look into the daily life of Vic and Matt. Matt struggles with the daunting task of living and loving a superhero when he has no powers to speak of. Matt is infinitely relatable and shows a touching side from his concern for Vic to his love and even his slight jealously ~ who wouldn’t want to fly? Sounds like short-term fun to me.

The author does a solid job of packing a lot of action into a short space and still manages to give a particularly hot sex scene between these two that will certainly peak the interest of any reader. Fans of the series know that different positions during sex give Vic different powers, so if you haven’t seen Snyder’s rendition of the gay karma sutra between these two ~ check it out! The author’s imagination and creativity will keep you guessing there as it did here. The only downfall was the limitations due to length. The potential media exposure of Vic wasn’t addressed and as usual more questions arose. However, that’s to be expected and this particular offering hit all the high points with the expected and unavoidable limitations.

When Vic wakes up the night after the accident to yet a new power, Matt’s not so sure he likes it. Thankfully, it’s a short trip to the bedroom to change that. Witty and fun dialogue combined with a past, tightly written plot give this story a lot of fun and sexy elements. It’s a sure read for fans of the series and will be a great introduction to anyone new as well. I’m still trying to work my way through the books and each short story reminds me of how much fun these characters are. Be sure to check it out! ...more
