Alyssa has been kicked out of her house because she's a lesbian and she is forced to move in with the mother she never knew, who is most likely a prostitute. This is a story that flits between past and present, giving the groundwork of Alyssa's relationship with Sarah, the girl who eventually lead to her banishment from her father's home.
