Alyssa has been kicked out of her house because she's a lesbian and she is forced to move in with the mother she never knew, who is most likely a prostitute. This is a story that flits between past and present, giving the groundwork of Alyssa's relationship with Sarah, the girl who eventually lead to her banishment from her father's home. I liked the way the author slowly revealed the story, as opposed to laying it all out at once. This causes the reader to keep reading, and want to find out wha ...more
