This was a true to life, page-turning read. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes modern teen reads. I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen with Landry and her friends. Hager understands the world of teen girls and the dialogue and situations the girls find themselves in is spot on. The world she created is very realistic. I thought I was right beside Landry the whole time in her home, school and neighborhood. Glad there are more books to read about Landry. Looking forward ...more

Krysten Linday Hager's novel, True Colors, is a fantastic read, especially for middle grade girls. Cliques are the norm for Landry's school, and she is just trying to fit in. She finds she can't please every girl in her class, and makes difficult choices when spending time with her friends. Besides coping with mean girls in her school, her home life is in turmoil, with her parents living apart. I highly recommend this book. ...more
