I like the main plot of the book, my problem was everything else that was there. The was so much extra crap that I had to read to get through the actual plot. So-and-so is having sex with this other person and they are sneaking around so as to add pages to the book. My recommendation would be to skip the book and wait for the movie -- I'm sure they'll pull out a ton of the crap to make the story fit in 2 hours.

Enjoyable. Not the greatest thing I've ever read but a fine whodunit.
