Just wonderful. I am not sure if it is as good as Wolf Hall but that sense may be due to already knowing and being familiar with the narrative style after reading Wolf Hall, although Mantel continues to develop that style and uses it with more effect in Bring Up the Bodies. The sense that Cromwell is growing old and world-weary is inescapable; the narrative flashbacks show a first-class mind starting to decline, become distracted - old memories lingering and being dredged up unexpectedly.
