What Members Thought
Lots of folks really like this book, but I'm not one of them. The world was interesting and the magic system Sanderson created for it was different and unique. However, I never really bought into the main character as a person. Actually, I didn't buy into any of the characters in the "crew". They all seemed stereotypical. This is Sanderson at his absolute best!
I love Sandersons books and this one is probably my favourite so far. It has everything I expect:
- Deep original world building creating a setting that different and more detailed than your typical fantasy world
- A unique, interesting, detailed and strictly defined magic system
- A diverse cast of POV characters
- Slow but completely enjoyable pacing
- A plot that slowly unravels, constantly changing the readers perspective on the characters, world and the sto ...more

The magic system was a bit heavy handed but otherwise a very entertaining book.
