Sometimes I feel like books mostly set in cyberspace are supposed to strike me as strange. It's supposed to be strange that cyber-protagonist wanders into a virtual mockup of a 1980s pizza place, complete with arcade games, or that an alternate reality has easter eggs and other gamelike elements. It's supposed to strike me as strange that relationships can develop online without ever seeing each other's real face.

I should have liked it, I'm really the target group. It's well written, geek references galore, but it still felt like a glorified Dan Brown (better written, I give it that). Still, it was nice and fast read, it's just that the main characters were all really boring.

It's like a book that was pretty much written for me - A nerdy gamer who grew up in the 80s.
