A great central conceit, conveyed with typical wit and humour by Scalzi. I find him a naturally funny writer, and his characters are great to just hang out with.
I found the actual get-out somewhat unsatisfying, however, and I think I would have preferred them to solve it all more metaphysically locally, though I'm not sure if they could ever have fought the restrictions of their situation effectively in that case. What a fun book. Satirical take on existing Scifi TV series like Star Trek.
