What Members Thought
Enjoyable military sci-fi that does not go too far down either the hardware fetishist or tactical nerd rabbit-holes. In the vein of Heinlein's Starship Troopers but without Heinlein's somewhat heavy hand, especially on social issues. Perhaps more like Haldeman's The Forever War in some ways without Haldeman's complete anti-war stance.
The writing is good and gets out of the way of the story, although there is enough meat there that I thought about the world after I finished the book - a good sign ...more
