If you can avoid reading too many reviews or hearing too many sob stories, I would recommend reading this with as few expectations as possible.

Like a lot of authors that I (and many readers) really love, Green writes incredibly poignant and witty dialog, all Diablo-Cody-snuggles-Aaron-Sorkin. He has a great way with words, and who wouldn't want Augustus Waters to fall for them? (Without all the, you know, cancer.) He's kinda too good to be true. Indeed, most of these characters are. The teens are incredibly too enlightened, the adults a little too indulgent. It kept me from completely buying in.
