I'm not a big reader of romances, especially modern romance stories. A Time to Love, however, is a love story as opposed to a romance. I found the characters believable and inspiring. I've always been enamored by the Amish, and this book meet my expectations with the exception of the author stating that farmers had been killed when their tractors rolled over on them. I didn't care for this book. It felt contrived and unreal, it was very simple. I knew the ending after the first few pages.
The beginning with Jenny's outburst at the stop sign seems like a completely different Jenny than the rest of the book.
I read the chapter of the next book. I bet the stranger is going to marry Hannah.
Altho I've made it a goal to read all the quilt fiction I find, but I don't want to read the next book of the series. ...more

I got this since it publicized itself as Book 1 of the Quilts of Lancaster County. There is no quilting in the story. There is a quilt that Jenny has in the hospital before the story starts and her Grandmother leaves her to go to a quilting bee but there is not quilting and women talking around a quilt in this book.
Neverless, I have the 2nd book of the series from the library and we'll see how the quilt figures into this next one. ...more
