What Members Thought

Sadly I did not like this one as much as the first but I enjoyed the series overall. While the first book had me hooked, I can't say the same about the sequel. The pacing seemed a little off - at times it just flew through the action and others time just dragged with nothing really happening.
So what did I like:

I liked this book overall, but Jules makes me so mad sometimes. She runs away from Caro and goes straight to her hometown and friend, because no one would ever think to look there. Duh, really? She puts her best friend in danger and then she goes right back to Caro! I couldn't understand her thinking, especially when she lied to Ina. Evermore
I was so excited to read this book, but I felt a little let down after finishing the book.
As revealed in the previous book, "Everless," Jules is the Alchemist, and Caro is the Sorceress. What follows is Jules' journey into finding out what had happened in her 11 previous lives to destroy Caro.
I was a little upset (others mentioned this as well), but the concept of time as blood iron is tossed out the window. That was one of the aspects of the first book that I enjoyed. Worldbuilding co ...more

I had read the first book last year and thought I had reviewed it, but must have missed it in my time away from media and dealing with life's changes. I highly enjoyed the first book as it dealt with something very unique as time being currency and extracted from blood. It took me a little while to get the chance to read book two and I loved it as much as I did the first some. Though, I do wish there was more to the story. There were times it seemed like things got rushed and "squished" into the
