In a world where the dead don’t always stay buried, Aderyn has been devoted to supporting her family as a gravedigger. Her village of Colbren used to be home to the fae, and has been slowly dying. After the death of Ryn’s parents, she is struggling to keep her family afloat. With their Uncle missing, the town authority comes after them for his debt with a new ferocity. I really liked this book. The author’s writing style was strong, it sucked me into the world of this small town and it’s surrounding areas. I felt like I could picture it easily.
I enjoyed Ryn as a main character—I liked how tough on the outside she was and how she wasn’t afraid of things and could take care of herself, her family and her town. Even with this she still had some vulnerability which was nice too. Gareth and Ceri were good side characters as her siblings.

I absolutely loved this and don't understand why everyone isn't raving about it. This book has a great mix of horror and fantasy, a beautiful slow burn romance, amazing and unique characters, and a gripping and compelling plot! I read this audiobook and will need to reread as a physical copy soon so I can savor all the details and learn how to spell the names!

I loved it. I thought it was engrossing and had an eerie quality that was perfect for the season. It's definitely atmospheric and winding in the best way.
