A long, meandering story. It took at least 100 pages for me to feel pulled in. About half way, the story did take some interesting turns and I was finally intrigued. I've already bought book 2, so I'm looking forward to reading it - but I'm pretty glad I waited this long to read it.

A surprisingly enjoyable read. This is my first time reading Leigh Bardugo and I went into the book knowing very little about the plot. The magic system was very interesting and I am indeed a sucker for any mystery/slight detective notes in my books.
It's not an all time favorite but I will most probably pick up the second book when it's out. ...more
