This novel explores the fictional 70s rock artists Daisy Jones and the group known as The Six, including their joining forces and, ultimately, breaking up.

This is 100% (if my memory serves correctly) dialogue, which says a lot about TJR’s writing style, as I don’t think a lot of authors would be able to pull this kind of book off. I can’t imagine this story being told in a typical way, with prose and such, so I think this style was perfect for this story. The downside to this book is that there ...more

Review of Ebook (January 2023)

I know. I know. I was supposed to listen to this on audio. But it wasn't available from my library and I already had the ebook. So, I read the ebook. And let me tell you. It took me a good while to finish this one. It was dense. It was written in interview format, so you would get the character's name with a block of text of them talking. AND it wasn't bad. It was just hard to get through about 30% in. I really struggled with finishing this one in all hones ...more

I was so excited about this book based off the reviews. Let’s just say I feel like I read a different book than everyone else or something. I listened to the audiobook and I liked all the characters having their own narrator. That was different but in a good way. The narrators all did a good job. I just hated the characters and there really wasn’t much story. I’m glad a lot of people enjoyed this, I’m just disappointed I wasn’t one of them.

Kirja oli mukaansa tempaava ja mielenkiintoinen kuvaus. Tapa puhua jokaisen omalla suullaan oli mielenkiintoinen ja voisi kuvitella ettei sitä olisi ehkä ollut kiinnostavaa lukea niin mutta kyllä siitä oli hyvin kuitenkin saatu sujuva tarina näinkin. Lopun koonti Missä kukin on oli myös hyvä asia vaikka ainakin päähenkilö on fiktiivinen. Ryhmädynamiikkaa kuvattiin osuvasti ja miten usein ns.johtajan varjoon jää muut. I listened to the audiobook version of this book, and I got to tell you, I loved it!
The cast did an amazing job.
As for the story, what is there not to like.
Rock band in the 70s climbing to fame. Drugs, mistakes, and heartbreak.

I remember starting this book and finding the format a bit awkward but after a while it really grew on me and I began to enjoy it. I loved the drama of this book, the love stories, the twists. Honestly a fairly enjoyable read.
