This is a series that I loved from the very start and I was so eager to read this finale. This is a world that you cannot help but fall right into!

I just love these characters! Kemmerer has a way of endearing her readers to the characters and making them feel what their characters feel. We truly get to live in the characters' shoes, and I love that! The reader gets a glimpse into the psyche of each character. We know their motivations, desires, and the parts of their pasts that have made an impa This is a series that I loved from the very start and I was so eager to read this finale. This is a world that you cannot help but fall right into!

I just love these characters! Kemmerer has a way of endearing her readers to the characters and making them feel what their characters feel. We truly get to live in the characters' shoes, and I love that! The reader gets a glimpse into the psyche of each character. We know their motivations, desires, and the parts of their pasts that have made an impact on their personalities. We feel their regret over mistakes made and the tendrils of hope that they hold in their hearts. I loved that this series was told from four main points of view. I tend to like stories more that have dual or multi-POVs. It always feels like it brings more to the story and it definitely did in the case of this series. I really enjoyed the side characters in this series as well. They make such an impact on the story and add so much depth.

Kemmerer is such a fantasic storyteller. Her writing is just lovely. She definitely knows how to make the reader want more. The pacing was good in this book until the end.

The only thing that kept this from being a five-star read for me was the ending. I wasn't a fan. The rest of the book I absolutely loved but I thought that the ending was kind of awful. It was anticlimactic and it left so much unresolved. I usually like a little more resolution in the end. It was like there wasn't an ending at all. They defeated the villain and then nothing. No real aftermath. And I thought that the fight with the villain was over way too quickly and didn't pack much of a punch. I felt a little cheated. I suppose that I just expected more conflict in the end. The story had been building up for three books and the boss fight was over so quickly that you could feel the air whoosh right by your face. I guess I just wanted an ending a little more substantial.

I kind of wanted to see more romance in the book. Each couple got their fade to black scene (because this is YA) but I kind of hoped for more special moments between each couple throughout the story. In Grey and Lia Mara's case, Grey was trying to train her army and make sure that she was safe. They didn't get a lot of interaction together through much of the story until the first night they sleep together. I did find this scene rather sweet though, so there's that. In Rhen and Harper's case, their relationship was fractured and tense through most of the story. I did like that they tried to build back up the trust they had for each other though. It was obvious that Rhen and Harper cared for each other but they had very little actual romance in the book.

Overall, I loved this series. While the ending of this book disappointed me a bit, I still adored everything else. This is such an imaginative and compelling series with characters that you can't help falling in love with. This series was my first time reading this author and I am so happy that I took a chance on her. I can't wait for her Forging Silver into Stars series, which is set four years in the future in this same world and features Tycho!

I loved the first book in this trilogy and I liked the second one, even though some things happened that disappointed me. I was looking forward to reading this conclusion to the series, but after reading it, I have to say that it was a bit of a let down. It took me a long time to finish this book, and I never felt very compelled to read it. I wouldn't say it's because I didn't like it. I was so excited to finally pick up A Vow So Bold and Deadly. I have been such a huge fan of Brigid Kemmerer for so many years and her first take at an epic fantasy has been my absolute favourite of her works. I was so excited to finally pick up A Vow So Bold and Deadly. I have been such a huge fan of Brigid Kemmerer for so many years and her first take at an epic fantasy has been my absolute favourite of her works. I know a lot of people felt disappointed in the second book in this series, but I loved it even more that the first book. Grey and Lia Mara fast became my absolute favourite characters in the series, and so I couldn’t wait to dive into the final book in the series, and see how it all ends for them.

A Vow So Bold and Deadly was a really good read and a great ending to the trilogy. There was actually four perspective’s in this one and I was really happy to see the perspective of all four of our main characters, especially considering at the start they were in different places. It was a great way to see what was happening on both sides. I ended up preferring the perspectives of Lia Mara and Grey, over Harper and Rhen but I did really enjoy all of them. Once again Brigid’s addictive writing style and storytelling skills had me hooked right from the start. I couldn’t put this book down. This book was fast-paced and the further through the book I got, the more I couldn’t stop reading as I just couldn’t wait to see how it was all going to end.

I listened to the audio edition for this one and I really enjoyed the different narrator’s take on the characters. They did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life and I highly recommend the audios of this series. They really do a fantastic job!

I really enjoyed this final book of the Cursebreakers trilogy. My one slight gripe about it is that I felt like the ending was slightly rushed. I felt like there was so much build up to this fight with the enchantress, and then it just kind of wrapped up super quickly. I felt like it was a little bit anti-climactic. I’d have loved to see a big fight go down.

A Vow So Bold and Deadly was a really good finale to Grey and Lia-Mara’s and Harper and Rhen’s stories. I was so glad to see them all get the happy ending they all deserved. I’m really excited to know Brigid is writing more in this world and I can’t wait to write Tycho’s story. I’m sure it’s going to be fantastic.

Why have I not read Books 1 and 2 yet? Can not wait to read all 3! I’m so glad I was approved for this in NetGalley! I know what I’ve missed, and have to look forward.
